A POSITIVE QUEST

Thoughts trickle
Into the ageless time;
Browse deep into extremes
Of future’s gloomy icons
Where darkness reigns.
Coming across emotions,
Unfolding apprehensions
Conveying uncertainty,
Without an iota of joy
I get totally scared
To further approach
Into the dark volumes.

The other side of darkness
Possess a bright element
Of attaining enlightenment
Where the positive delights
Shine like an amazing glow.
They shower rays of hope
They promise succor to needy
They show serenity in dismay
They assure eternal peace
They aspire to hug us each
And convey the message of love.

The chambers of heart
Fill with humane concern
The warm hug of truce
The warm love of friendship
The warmth of love itself;
Lo ! How joy-filled are they ?
How eternal they seem ?
In the light of true spirit, yes,
Why can’t we be optimistic ?

THE PATH OF LOVE

Bloodshed and mayhem
From the barrel of the gun
From the killing of innocents
From the firing of rockets
From the bombings on inhabitants
From the assault by armed men
From the blasts by landmines
From the massacre by riots
From the turmoil of grenades.
It became a routine affair
At one corner or the other.

Several invaluable lives
Devastated without a bit of value.
Yes, humans and humanity
Shameless, where do they stand
Before the moral principles
Which our Almighty had prescribed.

Cannot we embrace the pious land
Which showers love and life;
Cannot we save the precious nature
Which bestows us with life’s essence.
What we lose if we care and love each
In true spirit, yes, in true spirit
Let us think again and again
And together choose the path of love?
----------------------------------------
GOD’S LOVE

Lo God! The creator of the vast universe
The earth, the sky and the nature
The wind, the water and the fire
The sun, the moon and the stars;
The wise among all, the human beings
Expecting us to uphold universal morals.

Yes, You provided us with nature aplenty
Showering us with love and sovereignty.
You gifted us peace to live a life polite
Implanting enough of wisdom to impart.
Instead of keeping aloft Your divine law
Vying to amass riches, we stooped low.

Religious violence, sectarian tensions
Oppressive stance, cultural aggressions;
Caught in greed’s mire, we created foes
Ignoring the much-wished concept of Love.
Ruining whatever emerges on the path
We fight among ourselves, defying faiths.

When the demon of ruin confronts us
We plead You to rescue and shower bliss.
The situation that was created on own
Tighten the noose from around own origin.
Let’s aspire providing succor to the needy
By breaking the shackles of invisible greed.
----------------------------------------------
A REAL CONCERN

God gave us enough of wisdom
Instead we employed it for own stardom.
God gave us a thought of mercy
Instead we made fun of it without trace.
God gave us a humane quality
Instead we ignored it fearing responsibility.
God gave us an element of tender feelings
Instead we misused for selfish passions.
God gave us the light to protect justice
Instead we explored ways for injustice.
God gave us darkness to rest in peace
Instead we chose to become slaves of bliss.
God gave us nature as our shield
Instead we destroyed it for personal ends.
God provided us with the option of amity
Instead we opted ways for creating enmity.
Yet, God gave us another great chance
The greatest and most precious essence,
Yes, the essence of love towards one and all;
Instead we created hatred for our own fall.
By devastating the pillars of trust on our own,
What are we going to achieve, is a real concern.
--------------------------------------------------
A  NEED

The buds of trust
Are ruthlessly nipped,
The flowers of love
Are brutally mauled.
Feeling alarmed,
The pigeons of peace
Fly into the distant skies,
To safeguard their survival.

As mere spectators
Ignoring the alarming plight
Of hope-fading peace;
Our mean characters float up
Competing with motives selfish;
Deceitfully peeping through
A ruthless and malicious garb.

Chased and surrounded
By the blood-thirsty vultures;
The pigeons of peace
With a hope for survival
Scream in the mid-skies
In a faith-filled attempt
To draw our kind attention.

But, engrossed in strategies
Planning to outwit each other,
For selfish ends if we keep fighting
How can there be an option
To save someone from despair?
A fear grips my future vision;
Will the delicate buds of trust
Blossom into flowers of love
And can the pigeons of peace
Fly back to their nests of faith.
As a humane concern, let’s think over
A balancing act is a need at this hour.
